Michael Ahearne lives in Budleigh Salterton on the East Devon coast near Exmouth with his wife Jenny and two young sons Billy and Jamie. He spent 5 years at Art College and is also a qualified professional Graphic Designer.

"My art is predominantly created using traditional and modern techniques in Oils, although I also use Acrylics, Watercolours, Gouache, Ink and any other medium I find in my Art Studio!

My paintings are mostly inspired by the Devon coastline where I live. This area of Britain, the Jurassic coastline, is in my opinion the 'jewel in the crown' for artistic inspiration. I surfed for 20 years and some of my work reflects this experience.

My work is currently being exhibited at the Swordfish Gallery, Exmouth, Thomas Tuckers of Exmouth and can also be seen at the Gala Week and Summer Art Exhibitions at Budleigh Salterton, the Devon County Show 2010 and at The Rolle Arms, East Budleigh, Devon.

I am a member of the Chartered Society of Designers and the Budleigh Salterton Art Club."
